Happy Anniversary to Ogun State for clocking 48 today Saturday, February 3, 2024.
Recall that on February 3, 1976, the then Head of State, General Murtala Muhammed announced in a nationwide broadcast, the creation of seven new states to increase the number of states in Nigeria from 12 to 19.
Ogun State was created from the old Western state, and it borders the Republic of Benin to the west for about 185 km, Oyo State and Osun State (for 84 km) to the north, Ondo State to the east, Lagos State to the south for about 283 km.
Ogun State which is the gateway state has it capital in Abeokuta.
Congratulations to Ogun State, congratulations to the governor, prince Dapo Abiodun and congratulations to all its residents.
