Unknown gunmen have kidnapped the Chairman of Benue State’s Ukum Local Government Area (LGA), Rev. Haanongon Gideon, together with his personal assistant, Silas Yuhwam, his driver, and police orderly on Saturday.
The Council Secretary, Jonathan Modi who confirmed the incidence in a statement said that the incidence occurred at about 6:30am on Saturday.
According to reports, the four were kidnapped on Saturday while travelling along the Zaki-Biam/Katsina-Ala road to Ter Katsina-Ala, HRH, Chief Ferzaanga Wombo’s funeral.
The statement read, “The ugly incident took place this morning, along Anyagba, Tongov, in Katsina Ala LGA, of Benue State, around 6:30am, while on the way to attend the burial of the paramount ruler of Katsina Ala LG, the Ter Katsina Ala, HRH Chief Fezaanga Wombo.
However, the council, hereby advised all her citizens to remain calm and be law abiding, while measures are in place to making sure the chairman regains his freedom.
