Ademola Lookman shares Serie A’s top performer honors

The latest round of Serie A action has produced two clear winners: Ademola Lookman and Florian Thauvin. The Atalanta and Udinese stars, respectively, dazzled with exceptional performances, earning them the top spots in the player rating

Lookman’s scintillating performance propelled Atalanta to a thrilling 3-2 victory over Fiorentina on Sunday. The Nigerian striker scored one goal and provided a crucial assist, earning him the official Man of the Match accolade from Lega Serie A and the highest rating alongside Florian Thauvin.”.

Florian Thauvin’s dazzling display propelled Udinese to a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory in Parma on Monday. The French forward scored two crucial goals and was named Man of the Match, mirroring Ademola Lookman’s heroics for Atalanta. Both players received an impressive 8/10 average rating from Italian sports papers

Other standout performers in the latest round were Napoli‘s Alex Meret, Romelu Lukak and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who all averaged 7.5, like Bologna‘s Santiago Castro, Milan‘s Christian Pulisic and Torino goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.

Meanwhile,  the Super Eagles winger has been named in the Serie A team of the week for MatchDay 4 as he completes a forward line that consists of Romelu Lukaku and Thauvin.

The midfield has Christian Pulisic, Youssouf Fofana, Iling Junior Samuel, and Mateo Zaccagni. Then the defense is made up of Denzel Dumfries, Theo Hernandez, and Alessandro Buongiorno. The starting eleven is completed by Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret.

AC Milan and Napoli have the most players in the team of the week after registering 4-0 wins in last week. However, Samuel Chukwueze got only eleven minutes of action for Milan and failed to register any goal contribution.
