various corporate social interventions in their localities. This call was made by the Commissioner for Industry, Trade, and Investment, Mr. Adebola Sofela, at the 2024 Community Day organized by Dangote Cement in Ibese, Ogun State.

Mr. Sofela emphasized that residents empowered with skills acquisition, working tools, and gadgets should make the most of these opportunities to become self-sufficient. He also stressed that companies should implement need-based social interventions, as the impact of these initiatives can be measured by the number of lives touched.
The Commissioner assured businesses in Ogun State of the government’s support for rapid development, emphasizing the importance of sustaining corporate social responsibility initiatives. He encouraged companies to use feedback from stakeholders to improve and sustain their initiatives.
The Plant Director of Dangote Cement, Ibese, Mr. Roy Uttam, appreciated the support of the host communities and highlighted the company’s efforts to improve livelihoods through scholarship awards and business support for vulnerable women.
