HISTORY MADE! OGSG Sets New Standard with CBT, Oral Interview for Midwifery Hopefuls!

The Ogun State Government has taken a significant step in selecting prospective students for its Basic Midwifery Programme by conducting a Computer-Based Test (CBT) and oral interviews.

This rigorous evaluation process aims to assess the candidates’ knowledge, competencies, and communication skills.

According to Dr. Kayode Oladehinde, represented by Mrs. Sherifat Aminu, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health, the incorporation of technology through CBT seeks to streamline the selection process, ensuring transparency and fairness.

He explained that selection criteria include passing secondary school with credits in Physics, Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry, and being at least 17 years old.

Out of 598 applicants, only 300 will be admitted to cover the three campuses of the Colleges of Nursing in Abeokuta, Ijebu-Ode, and Ilaro.

The provost, Dr. Jeminat Sodimu, emphasized the state government’s commitment to strengthening its healthcare workforce and improving health systems.

Two candidates, Odusola Folasewa and Barnabas Samuel, expressed their enthusiasm for the program, highlighting its potential to improve maternal and child health outcomes in the state.
