Ogun State Ministry of Health Unveils 2025 Annual Operational Plan

The Ogun State Ministry of Health has described its 2025 Annual Operational Plan (AOP) as a reflection of a shared vision to strengthen the state’s healthcare system, ensuring residents have access to high-quality, affordable, and sustainable healthcare services.

Speaking at the AOP dissemination meeting held at the Ministry’s Conference Room in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the Ogun State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker, emphasized the administration’s dedication to healthcare transformation. She highlighted that under the leadership of Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, the state has continued to make remarkable progress in improving healthcare services.

“Today, we reaffirm our collective commitment to transforming our healthcare landscape. The AOP serves as a strategic guide, outlining key priorities and actionable steps that will drive impactful improvements across the sector. It is an evidence-based roadmap designed to address both immediate and long-term healthcare challenges in our state,” Dr. Coker stated.

She further noted that the AOP was developed through extensive collaboration with key stakeholders, including government agencies, healthcare professionals, development partners, and the private sector. She urged all stakeholders to see the document not just as a blueprint but as a call to action, ensuring that the impact of government policies and programs is felt, especially by the most vulnerable members of society.

In their remarks, Dr. Femi Adeyemi, UNICEF Health Specialist; Dr. Victoria Adebiyi, NPHCDA State Coordinator; and Pharmacist Michael Ohue, Head of APIN Public Health Initiatives, Ogun State, commended the government’s proactive approach. They expressed optimism about ongoing collaborative efforts, emphasizing their focus on innovation, resource mobilization, and effective implementation of healthcare services.

The 2025 AOP is expected to serve as a cornerstone for healthcare development in Ogun State, reinforcing the government’s commitment to building a healthier and more resilient population.
