The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has called on members of the public to report any personnel involved in bribery or misconduct, as part of its ongoing efforts to uphold transparency and integrity in road traffic enforcement.
This call was made by the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, in a statement released on Tuesday by the FRSC Public Education Officer, Olusegun Ogungbemide. Mohammed stressed that the Corps will not tolerate corruption in any form, and urged citizens to use official channels to report erring operatives.
Reports can be submitted via the Corps’ official email (info@frsc.gov.ng), the FRSC Mobile App, the Flag-It anti-corruption app, or through the Corps’ verified social media platforms using the handle @FRSCNigeria on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and YouTube.
Mohammed also warned motorists against offering bribes, noting that such actions are illegal and punishable under the FRSC Establishment Act (2007).
“Any motorist found attempting to bribe FRSC personnel will be arrested and prosecuted,” he said.
He clarified that all fines for traffic violations must be paid through designated banks into the Treasury Single Account (TSA), not to individuals.
“The Corps does not, and will not, tolerate any form of corruption whatsoever,” he added.
The Corps Marshal reiterated that FRSC operatives are strictly prohibited from demanding or accepting bribes, and that the Corps’ standard operating procedures enforce accountability and ethical conduct.
He praised citizens who responsibly report misconduct without resorting to violence and encouraged the public to continue supporting the FRSC’s mission to ensure discipline and safety on Nigerian roads.
“The public is admonished to comply with all traffic regulations on the movement of persons, animals, and goods on Nigerian roads,” he said.
