A non-partisan group, the Ketu Intelligentsia Forum (KIF), has urged residents of Ogun State to rally behind the lawmaker representing Yewa North Federal Constituency, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, as their preferred candidate for the governorship of the state.
KIF, a collective of academic professionals, accomplished private sector players, seasoned administrators, and grassroots advocates, is dedicated to the socio-economic advancement of Yewa-Ketuland and Ogun State at large.
The group made this call in a press release made available to journalists in Abeokuta on Thursday.
Isiaka, popularly known as GNI, is contesting for the governorship position in the state for the third time.
In the statement, jointly signed by the KIF Chairman, Ayilara Ayinla Muraina; Secretary-General, Sola Bamigbade; and Director of Strategy and Mobilisation, AbdLateef Olusoji-Emilandu, the group noted that Isiaka’s candidacy is crucial at a time of socio-economic volatility in Nigeria and across the globe.
The Forum argued that Ogun State requires a capable successor who can sustain and build upon the developmental strides of Governor Dapo Abiodun. It added that, after a thorough assessment of all aspirants, Isiaka stands out as the most qualified for the job.
“GNI possesses a granular understanding of the state’s macroeconomic potentials, from industrial hubs to border economies, as well as a microeconomic empathy for the everyday market woman across the three senatorial districts. He understands how to create wealth that reaches the household level.
“At this critical time of global socio-economic uncertainty, Ogun State deserves a leader like the current governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, who views the commonwealth as a sacred trust rather than a personal inheritance. Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka represents that same standard of leadership.
“We therefore call on all sons and daughters of Ogun State to join us in this movement for a state governed by knowledge, driven by character, and defined by progress.”
KIF further emphasized that Isiaka’s track record in both the private and public sectors underscores his readiness for the state’s top job.
“Having navigated both the private sector and the highest levels of state economic management, Prince Isiaka possesses the rare ability to bridge the gap between policy and practice. He does not require a learning curve; he understands the machinery of the Gateway State from the inside out.
“Above all, Prince Isiaka embodies the Omoluabi ethos, the Yoruba philosophical ideal of character, integrity, and public decency. In an era marked by aggressive politics and empty rhetoric, his calm, respectful, and inclusive leadership style offers a refreshing alternative. He represents the benevolent leader our people desire, a man of the people who respects the people.”
