Enugu Re-run: INEC Denys Beaten Staff, Nigerians Call Them Liar

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has described the information circulating over social media that a certain employee of the Commission was caught in Enugu State with a pre-filled result sheet for the rerun election held on Saturday as fake news alert.

INEC who gave this revelation on it official X handle (formally twitter) on Saturday February 3, 2024, got many Nigerians insulting the commission.

Recall that FREEDOM TIMES earlier reported that a certain man identify as Mr Ronald Ugwudani, who ran the election process at Igogoro, Ozzi Ward 2 Unit 004, in Enugu State, on Saturday February 3, 2024, was beaten mercilessly by Voters after he was caught with a Pre-Filled Result sheets.

Reacting to the incidence, the commission claimed that the man is not an employee of INEC, that he is unknown to the Commission.

“Our attention has been drawn to some fake narratives circulating on the social media that a certain employee of the Commission was caught in Enugu State with a pre-filled result sheet for the rerun election held today.

However, the said individual is not an employee of INEC. He is unknown to the Commission. The public should disregard the report.” The statement reads.

However, Nigerians who know the ways and how games are being played in Nigeria, blasted the commission, saying that they don’t believe thier words.

Reacting to their post @iamProjectP wrote “He is unknown to INEC but he is conducting an election on behalf of INEC? You guys are so useless”

Hon. Olaniyi wrote “We all know it is true when you deny it.”

Also in the same vein, one perter Obi first born wrote “We are not expecting anything else from you guys. As usually you just openly denied your staff”

Also an handle user, good citizen wrote “What kind of lie is this? Though you people at INEC are fake. Rogue organization.”

Meanwhile, the commission warned that the public to disregard the report as it is a fake news alert.
