God Fulfilled My Dream of Motherhood at 40 – Toke Makinwa

Media personality Toke Makinwa has revealed how a heartfelt prayer to God was answered just in time for her milestone birthday.

Speaking on a recent episode of her podcast Toke Moments, the 40-year-old shared that she had prayed to become a mother by the time she turned 40. She celebrated her birthday in November 2024 — and just a month later, in December, discovered she was pregnant.

“I prayed to God that I wanted to turn 40 being a mum. I clocked 40 in November, and God did the pregnancy in December. God didn’t fail me. He is never late,” Toke said, crediting divine timing for her joy.

Addressing a common misconception about her views on relationships, she added, “There is this popular belief tha t I bash and hate men. It’s not true. I launched TM Beauty when I was so depressed, but people didn’t know.”

On August 13, 2025, Toke announced she was expecting her first child with a breathtaking maternity video shared on Instagram. In the serene garden shoot, she wore a flowing yellow gown with a sheer, floral-detailed bodice, proudly showing her baby bump.

In her caption, she called the pregnancy “the biggest project of my life” and “the highest calling ever,” adding, “Dear God, You did this one… You truly are the God of time and chance. My season is here.”

The announcement drew an outpouring of love from fans and celebrities, including Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham, with over 60,000 comments flooding her page within five hours.

Toke has been open about her personal journey, including her previous marriage to fitness expert Maje Ayinde, which ended in 2016, and her candid thoughts on love, marriage, and being single.
