Nigeria’s Super Eagles have advanced to the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations 2023 after defeating Angola 1-0 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

The first goal was scored by Ademola Lookman in the 47th minute with a free kick from 25 yards out, leaving Angola goalkeeper Signori Dominique helpless.

Lookman, who plays for Leicester City in the English Premier League, celebrated his third goal of the competition.

Although Victor Osimhen scored a second goal for Nigeria, it was ruled out by VAR as offside, taking the Super Eagles back to 1-0.

Angola tried to find a way back into the game, but Nigeria’s defense, led by captain William Troost-Ekong, was solid and denied any clear chances for the Palancas Negras.
