Ogun State Commissioner for Forestry, Hon. Taiwo Oludotun, has urged the people of Eggua in Yewa North Local Government Area to foster peaceful co-existence with investors.
This call was made during a meeting between the host community and Huafa Forest Development of Nigeria Limited at the Commissioner’s office in Abeokuta.
To promote a harmonious relationship, Hon. Oludotun encouraged the host community to support the investors, highlighting the long-term benefits of timber plantings.
” I want to appeal to you as the host community to give necessary support required and embrace timber plantings because of the great advantage it will bring in the long run. The investors are in your community as a result of permission of the Ogun State Government to contribute to speedy development of your area,” he said.
He assured the community that the investors’ presence is a result of the Ogun State Government’s permission to contribute to the area’s speedy development.
The Commissioner also promised that the government would address the investors on maintaining peace within and outside their immediate environment.

Additionally, he assured farmers whose farmland have been taken over by the investors that the State Government would provide assistance.
The community has pledged to support the State Government in creating a conducive environment for investors to operate successfully.
This commitment was made by Hon. Haruna Egugbohun, member representing Ketu, State Constituency in the State House of Assembly, and Mr. Olawale Benson, the Youth Leader of the community.
