Ogun State Government Launches Collaborative Effort to Eradicate Child Morbidity

In a bid to eliminate child morbidity, the Ogun State Government has partnered with relevant stakeholders to ensure the completion of routine immunization. This initiative aims to achieve zero-dose immunization among children through awareness and mobilization support.
At a stakeholders’ sensitization meeting, Dr. Elijah Ogunsola, Executive Secretary of the Ogun State Primary Health Care Development Board, emphasized the need for mobilization and sensitization across the state.
He noted that many mothers underestimate the importance of immunization, highlighting the need for community engagement.
The sensitization program, which commenced last year, has entered its second phase, focusing on strengthening community health and primary healthcare systems statewide.
Dr. Ogunsola stated that the stakeholders’ meeting marks a crucial step towards achieving the state’s goal of reducing morbidity among children.
Mrs. Oluwakemi Balogun, representative of Family Health Initiatives, Civil Society Organisation, commended the present administration’s commitment to creating a safer and healthier environment.
She pledged to diligently carry out the assignment of reducing child morbidity and mortality.
