In a significant move to promote science education, Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof Abayomi Arigbabu, has inaugurated a 12-man Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the upcoming 65th National Conference of the Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN). The conference is scheduled to take place from August 15th to 21st, 2025, in Abeokuta.

During the inauguration, Prof. Arigbabu emphasized the importance of adequate preparation for the conference, highlighting Ogun State’s reputation for excellence in standards and hospitality. He also encouraged teachers to strive for excellence, ensuring learners continue to excel in national and international competitions.
The Commissioner reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to supporting learners, sponsoring their participation in competitions like STAN, JETS, and OLYMPIAD. He emphasized the value of every association, urging them to make the state proud and justify the support provided.
Dr. Yomi Onanuga, Chairman of the LOC, appreciated the Ministry’s support, acknowledging the conference as a platform for advancing science education and fostering collaboration among educators nationwide. He promised to make the best out of the conference, ensuring Ogun State remains outstanding in all competitions.
