Royal Heritage, Global Vision
Princess Bunmi Mustapha, the driving force behind the AfricanShowcaseMarket Festival, is more than just an event organiser — she’s a bridge between heritage and modern global culture.
Born in Europe but deeply rooted in Ijebu-Ode, Nigeria, Princess Bunmi carries royal lineage on both sides of her family — the Muyigeso/Fidipote and Fusengbuwa royal houses. Her early education included time at Muslim College, Ijebu-Ode, where she developed a deep respect for tradition and community.
Her inspiration for the AfricanShowcaseMarket came after attending the world-famous Ojude-Oba Festival — a celebration of Ijebu heritage that left a lasting mark on her.
That moment sparked her mission to share the vibrancy of African culture with international audiences, while also dreaming of contributing her festival expertise back to Ojude-Oba in the future.
With over two decades in the cultural events arena, Princess Bunmi blends royal dignity, international experience, and a passion for connecting people.
Her work has helped make African art, music, cuisine, and trade a celebrated part of London’s cultural landscape — and she’s only getting started.
