Tinubu Celebrates Senator Musiliu Obanikoro at 65

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended heartfelt congratulations to Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, a prominent Lagos politician and former Minister of State for Defence, on the occasion of his 65th birthday.

In a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised Obanikoro’s unwavering dedication to public service and his enduring contributions to both Lagos State and Nigeria.

Describing him as a respected figure in Lagos politics and a trusted member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Tinubu highlighted Obanikoro’s impactful leadership, particularly during his tenure as Chairman of Lagos Island Local Government and as Commissioner for Home Affairs and Culture in Tinubu’s administration as governor.

“Senator Obanikoro’s significant contributions to Lagos State remain commendable,” the President noted. “His service as a Senator representing Lagos Central from 2003 to 2007, and later as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Ghana, further underscores his commitment to national development.”

Now an apex leader in the Lagos APC and a member of the influential Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Obanikoro—fondly known as “Koro”—was lauded by Tinubu for his continued role in strengthening the party and advancing the state’s progress.

The President prayed for long life, renewed strength, and continued service for the celebrant, urging him to keep using his wealth of experience to promote unity and national growth.

With a distinguished career spanning local governance, legislative service, diplomacy, and executive appointments, Senator Obanikoro remains one of the most recognizable figures in Lagos and Nigerian politics.
