The Chairman of Yewa North Local Government, Dr. Olusola Akinbode, has presented a budget proposal of ₦10,480,671,345.00 to the Legislative Council for the 2025 fiscal year.
Speaking at the Odebiyi Legislative Chamber in Ayetoro, Dr. Akinbode stated that the budget, titled “Budget of Sustainable Transformation,” consists of ₦5.101 billion allocated for recurrent expenditure and ₦5.379 billion earmarked for capital projects.
Providing further details, he explained that ₦572.949 million is designated for personnel costs, ₦4.341 billion for Consolidated Revenue Fund Charges, and ₦187.130 million for overhead costs.
Regarding revenue sources, he stated that ₦462.900 million is expected to be generated internally, ₦760 million will come from the State Government allocation, while ₦9.257 billion will be received from the Federation Account as statutory allocation.
In analyzing the sectoral allocation, Dr. Akinbode revealed that ₦366 million has been allocated to agriculture, ₦1.352 billion to works and housing, ₦285.350 million to primary healthcare, and ₦48 million to education.
He emphasized his administration’s commitment to prioritizing staff welfare, improving infrastructure, and empowering the people. He also expressed appreciation to career officers and the legislative arm for their cooperation and support.
The Leader of the House, Hon. Stephen Adeogun, commended the Chairman’s dedication to development and assured that the budget would be given prompt attention and approval in the interest of the people.
The presentation was attended by Vice Chairman, Hon. Olumide Ilori, Council Secretary, Alhaji Lukumon Akinyemi, and other officials.
