2027: Ogun West Now Wiser, United, Ready To Deliver Yayi – Hon. Oyedele

…Says Ogun Assembly Not Dormant or Rubber Stamp

A member representing Ipokia/Idiroko Constituency in the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Bisi Oyedele, says Ogun West political gladiators are now a united and indivisible family, and ready to deliver the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Senator Solomon Adeola, Yayi, as the next governor of the state.

He said this while appearing on The Arena, a podcast show based in Abeokuta, the state capital.

Oyedele, popularly known as Citiside, noted that politicians and people of the zone have learnt from their disunity, which, he said, had made them to be at the losing end and on the back foot of development among other zones of the state.

He said Ogun West political actors are now wiser and prepared to deliver the state’s governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Olamilekan Adeola, and other candidates in the forthcoming general elections.

His words: “Ogun West now wiser. Ogun West nomenclature has changed. Ogun West is indivisible, we are now united. In 2023, Ogun West was the only zone that delivered optimally; all candidates emerged. It was 100/100. Ogun West is an indivisible political family now. We will deliver Senator Adeola and other candidates in the 2027 elections.”

Oyedele dismissed controversies surrounding Senator Adeola, describing them as distractions.

He revealed that the people of the state have made up their minds to vote for APC, insisting that the credibility and popularity of Senator Adeola is unprecedented.

“Forget about distractions, he is our governorship candidate. People have made up their minds to vote for him and APC,” he stated.

While reacting to a statement credited to an opposition candidate that the 10th Assembly was dormant, Oyedele described the assertion as “a mentality of someone in opposition.”

He said the Assembly was not a rubber-stamp house, insisting that the house has performed better.

Oyedele noted that the current members of the House have done more constituency projects in the history of the Assembly.

He said, “We are not dormant. The statement is from a mentality of someone in opposition. He won’t see good things from us. We are not a rubber-stamp Assembly; we have pushed for more constituency allowances and have it. Though our independence is not total, we are not a ‘do as I say’ house.”

He listed some of his achievements to include stopping Customs officers’ clashes with the people of the area, youth empowerment, sinking of 11 boreholes in Ipokia Local Government, among others.

On the importance of his re-election to the House, he said, “My people will have more to gain as a second-term member. I will have better and good committees to head as a second-timer, and it will be for their gains.”
