Nkechi Blessing: N1m Weekly Allowance Made Me Step Back from Acting

Actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has revealed that she decided to take a break from acting after an anonymous benefactor placed her on a weekly salary of ₦1 million.

She made the disclosure during an appearance on the show Curiosity Made Me Ask, hosted by Bae U Barbie.

According to Nkechi, the earnings from her film roles were often underwhelming, sometimes yielding less than ₦1 million in profit per project. The steady financial support, she said, allowed her to step away from low-paying movie jobs.

“Someone anonymously started giving me ₦1 million every week because I wasn’t being paid enough for my movie roles—that’s why I paused acting,” she explained. “Sometimes, I’d shoot a whole movie and still not make up to ₦1 million from it.”
