Ogun Police Command flags off 2026 Week with Free Medical Outreach, Sanitation

The Ogun State Police Command, under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Tunji Disu, psc(+), NPM on Monday, flagged off activities marking Police Week in commemoration of the 2026 National Police Day.
The one-week celebration started with free medical services and a statewide sanitation exercise.
The free medical screening, carried out by the Department of Force Medical Services, Ogun State Command, was held at the NUJ Council Secretariat, Iwe Iroyin, Oke Ilewo, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
 Members of the public benefited from services including blood sugar checks, blood pressure checks, height and weight measurements for BMI, and health talks on regular check-ups and exercise.
The Command expresses its gratitude to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (Ogun State Council) and members of the Fourth Estate for their solidarity, support, and partnership in ensuring the success of the programme.
The sanitation exercise was simultaneously conducted across all Area Commands and Divisions in the state, reflecting the Command’s commitment to environmental cleanliness, public health, and community participation.
These initiatives demonstrate the Command’s people-centred approach to policing and reinforce the spirit of Police Week, which commemorates the dedication and service of the Nigeria Police Force.
Residents and beneficiaries commended the initiatives as timely and impactful, while the Command reaffirms its dedication to service, partnership, and proactive policing. Activities marking Police Week and the 2026 National Police Day will continue across the state throughout the week.
