Ogun PDP Alleges APC Pressure on Chief Fadairo Over Alleged Adebutu Endorsement

* We are winning big fishes from APC

Following the response of All Progressives Congress, APC to the viral video of Chief Joju Fadairo allegedly endorsing the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP governorship candidate, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, the party has rose in defense of Fadairo.

PDP in a statement issued and signed by a Chieftain of the party, Afolabi Orekoya on Tuesday night, accused the APC of pressurizing Fadairo.

The umbrella party claimed that members of the APC’s apex leadership in Ifo visited Chief Fadairo’s residence following his public declaration of support for Adebutu.

According to the statement, the visit came barely a day after the elder statesman reportedly expressed support for the PDP stalwart during an interaction at his residence on Monday.

The opposition party alleged that the APC delegation sought clarification from Fadairo regarding his endorsement and made efforts to persuade him to retract his position.

However, the PDP maintained that the former political leader stood firmly by his decision despite what it described as mounting pressure.

The statement quoted Fadairo as repeatedly reaffirming his position when questioned about his support for Adebutu, adding that the elder statesman eventually responded, “Take it the way you have seen it,” before the visitors departed.

The PDP interpreted the development as a sign of growing support for its political aspirations ahead of the 2027 governorship election, claiming that more influential figures from the ruling party could align with its cause in the coming months.

The party further criticised the APC’s choice of candidate for the 2027 election, alleging that many members and stakeholders within the ruling party were dissatisfied with the decision.

While urging the APC leadership to respect Chief Fadairo’s political choice, the PDP called on the ruling party to focus on addressing what it described as internal challenges rather than engaging in efforts to influence political endorsements.

*OGUN APC JITTERY OVER CHIEF JOJU FADAIRO’ SUPPORT FOR HON. OLADIPUPO ADEBUTU*

We are aware of the panic situation of the Ogun State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress which was displayed by the APC Apex body in Ifo Local Government today, Tuesday, 9th June, 2026 when they storm the house of Chief Joju Fadairo and made all efforts to forcefully make the elder statesman retract and debunk his support for Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu which he joyfully and willfully expressed at his residence on Monday, 8th June, 2026.

It is a shame that despite several pressures mounted on the reputable old man aimed at forcing him to denounce his support for Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, rather, Baba Fadairo maintained his ground and did not succumb to the pressure at any point.

While responding to the repeated questions on clarifying his statements of support for Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu and if he still stands by his words, baba kept answering by maintaining his position till he got uncomfortable and said ” take it the way you have seen it” after which they dispersed.

The APC should note that while they keep chasing small fries in PDP, we are winning the big fishes from their party (APC), they should be prepared to run more races and pay unscheduled visits as this is just the first Chieftain they know of, many are still on the way.

The drowning APC party can not continue to deceive the good people of the state, we have people of conscience that are tired of their party of retrogression particularly with the choice of a stranger as its candidate for the 2027 general elections.

We are promising them of more losses of the few credible people of progress in their party as gains to our course of delivering the good people of Ogun State from their shackles.

We appeal to the Apex body of APC to leave Baba Fadairo alone and face the decadence they brought on their party.

Signed
Afolabi Orekoya
