APC Chieftains, RTEAN Secretary commend conduct of Ogun Governorship Primary, affirm Senator Adeola as Consensus candidate

The Senatorial Chairman of the
All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun Central and member of the Ogun State Governor’s Elders Advisory Council, Chief Sunday Sowunmi has commended the turnout of party members in the governorship Primary elections process in Abeokuta South local government

He noted that the exercise was very impressive, and reflected the widespread support enjoyed by Senator Adeola Olamilekan popularly known as Yayi across the state.

Speaking during the APC primary election held at Ijemo Ward 5 in Abeokuta South Local Government Area, Sowunmi said the peaceful conduct and massive participation recorded during the exercise were indications that the APC remained united in its resolve to support the aspiration of senator Adeola.

“We are at Ijemo Ward 5 conducting the primary election of our incoming governor, His Excellency Senator Olamilekan Adeola, a.k.a Yayi,” he said.

“It has been very impressive. You can see by yourself that the turnout is very, very impressive. I am very sure in Abeokuta South, we are going to take the first position in Igbehin Ward 5 by the special grace of God.”

Sowunmi further stated that Senator Adeola had already built strong support structures across Ogun State before the primary election, adding that his contributions and connection with the people had earned him acceptance among party faithful and residents.

He expressed optimism that the primary election process would remain peaceful throughout the state, stressing that there would be no rancour or violence during the exercise.

“Senator Yayi has done all his work before today, and God has blessed his work. Throughout Ogun State, I don’t think there is going to be any rancour or molestation. Senator Yayi has been proved and he is a son of the soil of Ogun State,” he added.

Also, in Ago-Oko Ward 3, Abeokuta North, the general secretary of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Tiwalade Akingbade said the party members in the ward came out to exercise their franchise for the affirmation of the consensus candidate, Senator Adeola Olamilekan Yayi.

He disclosed that, there was arrangement that, all the leaders of the party had endorsed senator yayi, adding that, the his Ward and the entire state are for Senator Adeola.

While addressing journalists after the affirmation of the party consensus candidate at Ward 1, Abeokuta South local government, the party Apex leader, Teslim Sodipo said the situation in process is clear, and there was no problem.

The leader rallied support for senator Adeola, urging party members and residents to continue supporting the Yayi’s political ambition ahead of the 2027 governorship election in the State.

He mentioned that, Senator Adeola’s tracked records boost his acceptance by the party members in the primary elections.
