Dr. Gloria Laraba Shoda, MFR, mni, Mourns the Passing of Former President Muhammadu Buhari: “A Voice of Integrity Has Fallen Silent”

In a heartfelt condolence message, Dr. Gloria Laraba Shoda, MFR, mni, former National President of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) Nigeria, joins the nation in mourning the passing of His Excellency, former President Muhammadu Buhari.

“His departure is not just the loss of a former leader—it is the silence of a voice that stood firm for discipline, integrity, and national service,” she said.

Reflecting on her experience, Dr. Shoda shared:

“During my time as National President of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) Nigeria, I was deeply honored to work alongside his wife, Her Excellency Dr. Aisha Buhari, our beloved Grand Patron. Her unwavering dedication to the cause of women and families reflected the strength, grace, and compassion that characterized her husband’s leadership.”

In this moment of national grief, she added,

“We remember not only a man of duty but a soul of quiet dignity—one whose legacy of service will continue to echo in the lives he touched.”

Dr. Shoda prayed that Allah (SWT), in His infinite mercy, grants him Aljannah Firdaus, and comforts the Buhari family, the nation, and all who mourn his passing.

“May his memory be a blessing, and may his spirit guide us still,” she concluded.
