EFCC Nabs 36 Suspected Cyber-criminals, Recovers Nine Cars in Abeokuta

A massive crackdown on internet fraudsters by the EFCC has led to the arrest of 36 suspects in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The suspects, who are believed to be involved in various forms of online scams, were nabbed by the operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Command of the anti-graft agency on Monday, February 26, 2024.

According to the EFCC, the arrests were made after a thorough investigation based on credible intelligence on the activities of the cybercriminals in Gbokoniyin and Yetedo areas of the state capital.

The EFCC also disclosed that it recovered nine exotic cars, fourteen laptops, forty-nine mobile phones and several documents containing fraudulent transactions from the suspects.

The suspects, whose identities have not been revealed, will be arraigned in court as soon as the investigations are completed, the EFCC said.
