Members of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency have launched the ADJYAYI Independent Campaign Group (AICG) for Senator Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI), party’s candidate for the Federal Constituency and former Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye and other party candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group is an independent support movement established to mobilise grassroots support for the APC gubernatorial candidates across all levels.

a former Chairman, Ifo Local Government, Chief Wole Enilolobo during the launch, said its emergence was aimed at complementing the established APC structure and strengthening the party’s chances of victory across wards and polling units.
Enilolobo stressed that “AICG was not intended to create a parallel political structure or undermine the APC, but to build synergy with party leaders and existing structures”
According to him, “the group’s ultimate objective was victory for YAYI, APC candidates and the party at all levels”, adding that its activities would be guided by peaceful, lawful and responsible political engagement. He called on members to bring their ideas, energy, networks, experience and resources to the movement while maintaining discipline and loyalty to the collective objective.
He urged members to look beyond the elections by engaging with communities and supporting initiatives that promote youth development, women empowerment, community development and economic opportunities. “Political movements could only earn lasting public trust when their relationship with the people extended beyond asking for votes during election periods”, the former Council boss stated.
In her remarks, Adeleye, the APC candidate, Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency, commended the organisers for bringing party faithful together but clarified that her presence was not the formal commencement of her campaign.
“Although the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had lifted its campaign restrictions for Presidential and National Assembly, the APC leadership at the State level was yet to officially commence its campaign; be assured that I would follow the party’s direction before formally launching my campaign”, she stated.
Adeleye called for unity among party faithfuls, warning that personal ambitions and internal divisions must not be allowed to undermine the collective strength of the party. She urged all the support groups to begin mobilisation early and sustain their structures beyond the election season, with clear responsibilities, measurable targets and active engagement across the wards.
She further emphasised the need to take the campaign to the grassroots, noting that elections are ultimately won through people-to-people engagement and not social media alone. She called for greater participation of women and young people in strategy and mobilisation, while urging APC candidates and support groups to regard one another’s success as complementary to the overall victory of the party.
In his goodwill message, the Chairman, State House of Assembly Service Commission, Rt. Hon. Suraj Adekunbi, who led party bigwigs from Yewa North on a solidarity visit to the inauguration, recalled Adeleye’s track record of service in the 7th Legislature, saying she possessed the capacity to further make the Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency proud if elected to the Federal House of Representatives. The former Speaker of the 7th and 8th Legislatures also commended the steadfast support of political leaders for all APC candidates and appealed to party members to work towards achieving triple the votes garnered from Ifo and Ewekoro Local Government Areas in the 2023 elections.
Adekunbi stressed that the massive efforts invested in voters’ registration must translate into corresponding votes for all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections. He urged party leaders, support groups and grassroots mobilisers to sustain their engagement with voters and ensure that the party’s structures are effectively deployed to convert registration figures into electoral victory.
Dignitaries in their respective goodwill messages including former Senatorial Aspirant, Chief Muraino Banjoko, former member of the State House of Assembly, Prince Dapo Adeyemi, Vice Chairman, Ewekoro Local Government, Alhaja Aliu Abisola, Ogun Central Senatorial Women Leader, Chief Kikelomo Delano, and State Women Leader, Hajia Aminat Adigun and the representative of he YAYI Door-to-Door Movement, Ifo, Adesola Okunseinde, amongst others described Adeleye’s candidacy as “sellable,” citing her track record of service and describing her as a unique politician and a pride to the state.
They commended the emergence of the independent campaign group and pledged increased mobilisation for YAYI, Adeleye and other APC candidates.
Former House of Representatives aspirant, Evans Dedenbula also commended the party’s progressive ideals and Adeleye’s emergence as the consensus candidate, donating souvenirs to support the campaign, while Chief Kehinde Oladini, Convener of YAYI Progressive Partners, donated souvenirs to the group.
