Tinubu Hails Super Falcons After Historic WAFCON Triumph

President Bola Tinubu has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Super Falcons of Nigeria following their triumphant victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where they claimed a record-extending 10th continental title.

The President, in a statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, praised the team’s resilience and fighting spirit in overcoming hosts Morocco in a thrilling final held in Rabat.

“The Super Falcons’ spectacular performance tonight in Rabat, coming from behind to beat a spirited Moroccan side playing in front of a passionate home crowd, exemplifies the determination that defines the Nigerian spirit,” President Tinubu said.

Commending the team’s hard work and unwavering dedication, the President added: “With hard work, dedication, and tenacity, you have achieved the mission the nation dreamed of and prayed for. The nation looks forward to welcoming our champions. Congratulations! Nigeria celebrates you.”

The victory further cements Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s football and continues the legacy of the Super Falcons as the most successful team in WAFCON history.
