As political permutations ahead of the 2027 general elections begin to unfold in Ogun State, frontline aspirant for the House of Representatives, Hon. Jenriyi Osinowo, has declared unequivocally that Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, remains the most viable and credible candidate to lead the state after Governor Dapo Abiodun.
Speaking with journalists in Abeokuta on Tuesday, Osinowo—a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and native of Ijebu-Igbo—described Yayi’s gubernatorial ambition as both a political imperative and a divine call to service.
“The 2027 governorship is non-negotiable for Senator Adeola,” he stated.“His leadership record, political reach, and dedication to public service make him the best candidate to take Ogun State forward.”

Osinowo, who is eyeing the House of Representatives seat for the Ijebu-East, Ijebu-North, and Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency, emphasized that it is the rightful turn of the Yewa region to produce the next governor of the state—and that Senator Adeola stands head and shoulders above others in that bracket.
“Yayi has proven himself time and again. His impact in Lagos State is widely acknowledged, and now, back home in Ogun, he’s poised to bring the same transformative leadership,” Osinowo said.
Reflecting on their shared political history, Osinowo recalled his early involvement in the Yayi political movement.
“I was a pioneer member of the Yayi group in my constituency. At our ward meetings, our rallying cry was, ‘Yayi ni Jenriyi joo’. Unfortunately, due to irreconcilable political differences at the time, the vision didn’t come to fruition,” he said.
Osinowo praised Adeola’s political journey—one that has seen him rise through the Lagos State House of Assembly, the House of Representatives, and two terms in the Senate representing Lagos West, before returning to Ogun West as senator.
“In Nigerian politics, it’s rare to find someone who has earned electoral victories across multiple constituencies and states. That says a lot about Yayi’s credibility, popularity, and capacity,” Osinowo added.
Known locally as Otunba Imole, Osinowo is not new to political contests. He previously ran for the House of Representatives seat under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in 2019 and the APC in 2023. With renewed energy and commitment, he has declared his intent to contest again in 2027.
Speaking on his own ambition, he emphasized the need for continuity, representation, and development in his federal constituency.
“Our people deserve responsive and forward-thinking leadership, especially as we navigate an era defined by innovation and rapid change. My contributions are visible, and I am determined to do even more,” he said.
Rounding off, Osinowo reaffirmed his unwavering support for Senator Adeola’s governorship ambition and called on Ogun citizens to unite behind what he described as “a movement for progress.”
“Senator Yayi’s record speaks for itself—unbroken, consistent, and impactful. Ogun State is ready for him. And I am ready once again to serve my people,” he concluded.
