YOUTHS ENJOIN TO STAY RELEVANT IN EVOLVING WORLD – COMM

 

Youths have been encouraged to stay relevant, continuously adapt and up skills in order to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving world.

Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Bolu Owotomo made the call during the 3rd personality lecture series with the theme, “Becoming Relevant in the World of Work: Optimising the Future” at Babcock University, Ilisan Remo.

“Individuals must continually update their skills and knowledge to remain relevant and embrace opportunities,” he said.

Hon. Owotomo emphasised, the importance of being agile and responsive to technological advancements and innovations which were constantly changing landscape, stressing that, technology enables global connectivity, facilitating remote work, and collaboration across border.

He highlighted strategies for staying relevant to include, creativity and innovation, communication and collaboration, digital literacy and technical skills which were essential for generating new ideas, products and services that create values and improve productivity.

The Commissioner also encouraged the youths to enroll in online courses, apply for global internships and also partner with peers to launch ventures that would solve local challenges, adding that seeking new experiences, attending conferences and participating in training programmes would help them stay up- to-date with trending industrial development.

Also speaking, The President and Vice Chancellor of Babcock University, Prof. Ademola Tayo, urged youths to be diligent and focused, as the reward of hard work was more work, adding that staying relevant requires continuous learning and adaptation.
