Renowned filmmaker Kunle Afolayan and entertainment entrepreneur Mike Dada will headline a distinguished panel at the upcoming QEDNG Creative Powerhouse Summit, organised by Mighty Media Plus Network Limited, publishers of the online newspaper QEDNG.
The summit, themed “Financing as Catalyst for a Thriving Creative Economy,” aims to explore innovative funding strategies and growth opportunities for Nigeria’s dynamic creative sector. It will convene leading voices from the industry, policymakers, investors, and emerging talents to share insights and drive meaningful dialogue.
Veteran journalist and cultural advocate Steve Ayorinde, a former Lagos State commissioner for tourism, arts, and culture, will moderate the panel discussion.
Joining Afolayan and Dada on the panel are Joseph Edgar, a respected theatre producer and investment banker, and Mary Ephraim-Egbas, a leading advocate for the creative industry.
The summit’s organisers had earlier announced Udeme Ufot, Group Managing Director of SO&U, as chairman of the event, while Dr. Nkiru Balonwu, founder of The Africa Soft Power Group, will deliver the keynote address.
Speaking on the lineup, Olumide Iyanda, CEO of Mighty Media Plus Network Limited and convener of the summit, described the panellists as some of the most influential figures shaping Africa’s creative landscape.
“These are professionals who have built successful careers across film, music, theatre, events, marketing, and brand management,” Iyanda said. “They understand both the challenges and the immense opportunities within the creative space. This summit will allow them to share experiences, propose solutions, and spark action. With Ayorinde moderating, we anticipate a deeply engaging and impactful conversation.”
The QEDNG Creative Powerhouse Summit is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Isaac John Street, Ikeja GRA, Lagos.
