It has been confirmed that the 2027 elections will not just be about posters and rallies alone but about quality ideas and treatment of issues that affect the people, as civil society groups and media in the state say its time for candidates to seat down and answer question from the people.
This was made known by the Chairman of OGUN 2027 CONVERSATION, Yinka Folarin during the unveiling of the project at the NUJ Press Centre in Abeokuta.
He said the platform was set up to move election talk away from slogans to issues that affect daily life, health bills, school fees, insecurity, bad roads, and unemployment.
He said the people deserve to hear from the candidates and the candidates must be ready to listen to the people about their plights.
He added that the conversation will not endorse any political party, but will hold everyone seeking governorship and senatorial seats to account.
Folarin, who addressed journalists in the company of other members of the coalition, stressed that the initiative was not designed as an interrogation or witch-hunt of political candidates.
He said, “When it is a conversation, it is not as if we are interrogating. We want to hear from you, we want to know what you have in store for the people”.
