Some migrants arrested during Trump’s immigration crackdown have been released, sources revealed

After two weeks of reporting nearly 7,500 arrests, a portion of those detained have been set free, although the exact number remains unclear.
These released individuals are now being monitored through the Alternatives for Detention program, which utilizes ankle monitors, wristbands, or telephonic check-ins to track their movements.
The primary reason for their release is a shortage of detention space. Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, has repeatedly requested additional funding from Congress to construct more detention facilities. In response, Trump announced plans to expand detention space at Guantanamo Bay, with the capacity to hold up to 30,000 individuals. However, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem emphasized that it’s not intended to be a permanent holding facility.
