Summit: Egba, Egbado Traditional rulers in Ado-Odo LG raise alarm over marginalization

 

Irked over what they described as marginalization, the Egba/Egbado Traditional rulers in Ado-Odo Ota local government have raised an alarm over continue neglect by the council.

They noted that the council have overtime, schemed them out of things as regard traditional council of the area.

The Chairman of Egba/Egbado Council of Baales, Shokunbi Olawale Oyero while speaking to journalists, noted that the latest of the neglect is the non invitation to the ongoing three – day Strategic Retreat and Summit for Baales in Ado-Odo Ota local government.

Oyero explained that their domains have not benefitted any dividend of democracy as well as sighting of developmental projects in the localities.

He called on Governor Dapo Abiodun to intervene in the continuous shunning of them in scheme of things in the local government.

While commending the LG Boss, Wasiu Lawal, Oyero insisted that the summit was not all inclusive.

His words: ” This issue of always leaving us out in scheme of things in the local government is becoming unbearable. We are always been neglected. Imagine, the local government leaving us out in the Summit. We didn’t receive any invitation about the summit.

” We only know about the summit on social media. This is marginalization. Why is the local government always blocking us. No developmental projects in our domains. We want the Governor Dapo Abiodun who is known for inclusiveness to intervene in the matter”, he stated.
